Our story
About Blue Hour Objects
We believe that interior design is art you live in.
Blue Hour Objects is a small, independent shop for vintage and antique decorative objects, based in Denmark. Every piece is chosen carefully: Scandinavian studio ceramics, mid-century metalware, folk art, carved wood, and other objects with character and history, and a real presence in a room.
The name comes from photography. The blue hour is the brief moment after sunset and before sunrise when the light turns soft and deep, and ordinary things suddenly look different. A good object does the same thing in a home: it changes how you see the space around it.
We are a small team with a lot of passion and care for beautiful items. We find our pieces at markets, through dealers and from private sellers in Europe, always looking for objects that are well made, a little unexpected, and worth living with.
Every object in the shop is carefully researched, described and photographed. Where an attribution is certain, we say so. Where it is our best estimate, we say that too. Signs of age, wear and patina are part of an object’s story, and we show them as they are.
You can also find Blue Hour Objects at markets and fairs in Denmark, and on Instagram, where new pieces often appear first.
