(A Danish pewter jug by Just Andersen, from the 1940s-1950s, with a woven rattan handle.
The body is a soft pear shape that narrows to a small foot and rises into a straight cylindrical neck with a neat pouring spout. The slender curved handle is wrapped in tightly woven rattan, a warm honey tone against the soft grey metal. Simple and sculptural, it works as a water or juice jug, or as a vase for branches and dried stems.
The pewter has a bright, silvery sheen and a gentle patina. There are light surface scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use, and a few tiny dark specks on the neck. The rattan is intact.
The base is stamped with the Just triangle mark, "Denmark" and the model number 2662.
